Perhaps I am too old for this, but I was bored and annoyed with Sutter's laissez-faire, dude-bro approach to life. Even for a teenager, he was incredibly immature and self-centered, and his annoying, self-victimization, "woe is me, no one will ever truly love me" got old, very fast. If I had to pick one thing that captures why I disliked this book, it would be that he referred to himself as "The Sutterman".
I feel as though this was an attempt to be a modern, booze-fueled Catcher in the Rye, but it failed miserably. I have no idea why this book is so popular.
